Michael Walker
Pastor of Counseling and Pastoral Care, Elder
My name is Michael Walker. I have been serving in ministry since 1986. God has given me the privilege of being used by Him to train up pastors, godly lay leaders, and church planters in Africa. I had the opportunity to be on the frontlines pioneering a chaplain program for a sheriff’s department and a chaplain ministry for a 1,200 plus staff in a Christian organization. I have served as an Associate Pastor, Senior Pastor, Pastoral Counselor, and early on even braved the challenging waters of a Youth Pastor. I believe my greatest strength is my simple belief and desire to abide in God’s Word, my passionate love for Him, and my love for people.
Over the past six years the Lord has stirred my heart to have a greater focus on holistic counseling and pastoral care. My theme passage for my vision of care is found in 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (ESV) “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it."
